Improving Diversity, Equity and Inclusion in Genomics and Engineering Research

Diversity

The Center for Phycsical Genomics and Engineering is committed to the reruitment, academic and professional development, and support of a diverse, inclusive workforce. CPGE recruits, educates, and mentors individuals from all cultural, scientific, and socioeconomic backgrounds, with a special emphasis on individuals from backgrounds that have been historically underrepresented in the scientific workforce. Our student scholars, graduate fellows, post-doctoral fellows, and faculty represent significant diversity. CPGE aims to develop these trainees into leaders of the convergent science and engineering fields of the future.

Broadening Participation Plan

The goals of the center include increasing the participation of underrepresented groups in the field of bioengineering. URM undergraduates, graduate students, and postdoctoral fellows have access to robust programs at Northwestern University designed to support their STEM career.
